Shipping Arrangements for Cremated Remains

In most cases Marine Memorial Services will pick up the ashes from the funeral home or the home of the family, or the family of the deceased will deliver the ashes to the ship. However, in some cases, such as in our basic service, the ashes will be shipped to us directly for the unaccompanied burial at sea. The following are instructions to the family for the shipping of ashes to Marine Memorial Services.

  1. Complete the ‘Authorization for the Burial at Sea of Cremated Remains’. Authorization forms may be obtained, by calling - Toll Free 1-866-947-7282 or by e-mailing ryanknight@marinememorialservices.com.
  2. Place the ‘ashes’ in an urn, a metal, wooden, or strong plastic container to ensure they arrive safely.
  3. Pack the container of ashes, the Authorization form, and a check or money order payable to ‘Marine Memorial Services’ in a separate box for shipping. Include with the check and Authorization form any special requests that you may have in regards to the service.
  4. Ship or mail the box ‘Priority Post’.."Signature Requested" to:
